Join us in Sligo for the next edition of the PTMA Regional Workshop & Tour Series, where we’ll be visiting three of the region’s leading manufacturers: Lawrence Engineering, Abtech Precision, and PEM.
This exclusive event brings PTMA members together for a day of hands-on learning, real-world industry insights, and peer networking—all designed to promote collaboration and innovation in the precision engineering sector.
What to Expect:
- Workshop at ATU Sligo:
Kick off the day with a focused discussion on current challenges and opportunities in manufacturing, including topics like training, quality control, automation, and lean practices.
- Guided Site Visits:
Split into small groups and rotate through each host company for an inside look at their processes, technology, and operational strategies. - Networking & Peer Exchange:
Meet with engineers, operations leaders, and business owners from across the region.
Tour Hosts:
Lawrence Engineering – Specialists in CNC machining and custom part solutions
Abtech Precision – Precision tooling and high-performance component manufacturing
PEM – Innovative supplier with advanced facilities in production and assembly
Event Details:
09:30 – 10:00: Welcome coffee & networking at ATU
10:00 – 11:10: Presentations from Abtech Precision, PEM, Lawrence Engineering & ATU Apprenticeship team
11:10 – 11:55: Coffee break + group assignments
12:15 – 17:00: Rotating company tours (Abtech Precision, PEM, Lawrence Precision, Lawrence Medical)
Transport: On-site group rotations arranged between visitors
